How to make the Solenoid Valve silent
This page will show how you can make the solenoid valve silent during the opening/closing phase.

Inside the solenoid vale is a small piston which is operated by magnetic field.
When current is applied to the solenoid a magnetic field builds up and pull up a small iron piston.
Gas will then be able to flow due to the removed piston.

When the piston moves during opening/closing phase you will hear a distinct "click" sound.
By adding a soft damper at the back of the piston, the sound level will be reduced with 95%.
The function of the solenoid valve will still be the same.

The procedure is simple, but you must follow the steps below.
This procedure is not recommended from manufacturer, but we have been running valves for more than a year without any problems.

Make sure there is no gas pressure to the valve!

1.) Unscrew the nut and remove the solenoid

2.) Remove the top lid with the two screws

3.) Lift up the brass piston house, be carful with the o-ring
Silent valve
Here you can see the piston with its spring.

4.) Put a small damper inside the piston house
Silent valve
Cut out a tiny piece of damper from some soft material (foam). It should not be larger than 1 x 1 mm.
(If the damper is to large or to hard, the valve will not open.)

Reassemble the valve.
